The traditional Charchina Darbar Sharif has once again set a shining example of humanity by standing by the people affected by the disaster. The 'Hemayet Islam Mission' run by the Darbar Sharif under the direction of Pir Saheb Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Shah Abu Nasr Nesaruddin Ahmed Hussain (M.G.A.) distributed food items and daily necessities in the flood and disaster-affected areas of Chittagong and Cox's Bazar on Monday (July 27). The program has earned wide appreciation from the locals for providing necessary assistance to the people in distress and taking care of them.
The relief distribution activities were held in Gandamara Paschim Baragona and Chanua Unions of Banshkhali Upazila of Chittagong and in Napitkhali area of Pekua Upazila of Cox's Bazar. Bangladesh Jamiat Hizbullah Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Alhaj Hafez Maulana Shah Abu Bakr Mohammad Saleh Nesarullah (M.A.) was present and conducted the entire program.
During the relief distribution, he inquired about the affected people and listened carefully to their suffering. He said, “According to the teachings of Islam, it is a religious duty to stand by the people in danger. With that sense of responsibility, Charchina Darbar Sharif has always been working for the welfare of religion, country and humanity. Extending a helping hand to people in times of trouble is not only a social duty, it is one of the most important teachings of Islam.”
He also said that if the wealthy people of the society, industrialists, businessmen and various social and voluntary organizations of the society come forward in a coordinated manner, then it will be possible to alleviate the suffering of the disaster-hit people to a great extent.
The affected family members expressed satisfaction and gratitude after receiving the relief. Locals said that the help of Charchina Darbar Sharif has given them new hope in this difficult time of disaster. They expressed their sincere gratitude to Hazrat Pir Saheb Qibla and all those involved in the relief work.
Also present during the relief distribution were Bangladesh Jamiat Hizbullah Education and Cultural Secretary Dr. Hafez Maulana Md. Ruhul Amin, Cabinet Secretary Hafez Maulana Md. Borhan Uddin Salehi, Fellow Student Hizbullah Affairs Secretary Maulana Mirza Md. Yasin Rahman Zabihullah, Chittagong District President Md. Khorshed Alam, General Secretary Maulana Md. Abdur Rahman, Chandpur District President Maulana Md. Saifuddin Khandaker, along with local responsible persons, scholars, social workers and volunteers.
It is worth mentioning that the founder of Charchina Darbar Sharif, Allama Nesaruddin Ahmed (RA), established the 'Hemayet Islam Fund' in 1945 (1352 B.E.). Its aim was to support and rehabilitate new Muslims and also stand by people affected by various natural disasters including famine, flood, and tidal waves. In continuation of that tradition, the organization has supported war-torn people in Gaza, Palestine, provided relief activities in the earthquake in Turkey, and stood by flood-affected people in various regions of the country including Feni, Noakhali, and Chandpur. Those concerned said that this program dedicated to human welfare will continue in the future in any disaster and crisis in the country.
