Sensational Jubayer Murder in Chhagalnaiya Feni.Prime Accused Mamun Arrested in Dhaka.

Jahangir Alam, Staff Reporter. ​Police have arrested Md. Mamunur Rashid Mamun (28), the prime accused in the sensational and widely discussed murder case of Jubayer Parvez (32) in Chhagalnaiya, Feni. After remaining in hiding for a long time, he was finally netted by law enforcement officers from the Lalbagh area of Dhaka. ​On Wednesday evening, a special team from Chhagalnaiya Police Station, in cooperation with RAB-10 (Lalbagh), conducted a raid in front of 'Asha Hotel' in the Harpatti area of Lalbagh and apprehended him. ​Dispute Over Fish Pond and Mobile Phone ​The victim, Jubayer Parvez, was a fish farmer by profession. According to the police and the case statement, a dispute arose between Jubayer and the accused regarding the supervision of a ancestral fish pond and a mobile phone. Following that dispute, the killers planned to eliminate Jubayer. ​How the Brutal Murder Unfolded ​Late on the night of June 27 (between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM), prime accused Mamun and his associate Shahadat Hossain called Jubayer out of his house. They then pre-meditatedly hacked Jubayer indiscriminately on his head, neck, back, abdomen, and legs with sharp weapons to ensure his death. Demonstrating extreme brutality, the killers stripped his body naked, dumped it on the road in front of Rafiq Mia’s house in the Nij Kunjara area, and fled the scene. ​Case Status and Police Statement ​Following the gruesome incident, the victim's father, Md. Abu Taher (70), filed a murder case with Chhagalnaiya Police Station, naming four persons and including three unnamed individuals. Since the incident, the main accused Mamun had been hiding in Dhaka. ​The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamal Hossain, stated that procedures are underway to present the arrested prime accused, Mamun, before the court following legal formalities. ​Commenting on the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhagalnaiya Police Station said: ​The investigation into this discussed murder case is progressing with utmost priority. The prime accused has been arrested, and law enforcement agencies are continuing a comb-out operation to apprehend the remaining absconding accused.
