Safe Water Relief Smiles Light Up 100 Families Faces in Daganbhuiyan

Staff Reporter ​Clean water is one of the most basic necessities of daily life. For poor families in Daganbhuiyan Sadar Union, however, life was defined by a severe shortage of it. That long-standing hardship has finally come to an end, with the distribution of tube-wells to 100 underprivileged families—securing a permanent solution to their safe drinking water needs. ​The humanitarian initiative was implemented recently with funding from the UAE-based international charity organization Sharjah Charity International, under the supervision of local social worker Abdul Mannan Munna. ​On Saturday morning, a formal event was held at the Hayatpur Jame Mosque premises in Sadar Union, where the tube-wells along with installation materials were handed over to the beneficiaries. In addition to the tube-wells, all necessary equipment to make them fully operational—including pipes, bricks, sand, and cement—was provided directly to the recipients. ​Bibi Rahima, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her deep emotion, saying: "Our family has suffered from a desperate lack of drinking water for a very long time. We used to walk long distances just to fetch water. Now that we have a tube-well, we will get clean water right at home. May Almighty Allah reward those who relieved us of this hardship." ​Abul Kashem, a resident of Shreedharpur, shared a similar sentiment. "This is not just a tube-well; it is health security for our entire family. The initiative by the donor agency and Mannan Munna to address the regional water crisis is truly commendable," he said. ​Organizers stated that the primary objective of the program is to improve the standard of living for the rural poor and reduce the risk of waterborne diseases. They also expressed their commitment to continuing support for the people of Daganbhuiyan in education, healthcare, and humanitarian needs with the organization’s ongoing assistance. ​Local public representatives, dignitaries, and members of the beneficiary families were present at the event. The broader community of Daganbhuiyan has warmly praised this humanitarian effort.
