Special Correspondent. Prime Minister's Advisor and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that India is introducing a two-sided policy by giving a political speech to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was killed in the July uprising and is currently in India. He said this at a photography exhibition jointly organized by 'Gallery Hamiduzzaman' and the Bangladesh Photojournalist Association in the capital's Gulshan-2 area on Wednesday (August 5). Criticizing India's role, BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in India, was given the opportunity to speak at an international journalists' event despite the Bangladesh government's objections. The Indian Foreign Ministry said that since it was a private event, they had nothing to do. This stance is indicative of India's 'double standard' or two-sided policy. He said that in the past, when British lawyer Lord Carlyle wanted to come to Bangladesh to give legal advice on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, he was not allowed to enter. Later, when he wanted to hold a press conference in Delhi, the Indian government did not allow him. However, now Sheikh Hasina is being given the opportunity to make political statements. Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina once said that she had given India something that the country would remember for a long time. India's current position is a reflection of that statement. The BNP leader also said that it is the responsibility of neighboring countries to respect the changes that the people of Bangladesh have brought about through the mass uprising and to respect the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh. Regarding the July mass uprising, BNP leader Rizvi said that August 5 is a historic turning point in the history of Bangladesh, the day when the fascist regime fell in the mass uprising of the people. The government led by Sheikh Hasina was in power from 2009 to 2024 by undermining the people's voting rights and democratic rights. At that time, people from students, teachers, journalists, working people, people of different classes and professions and children were also victims of violence. The anger that had been pent up among the people for a long time exploded, which the government could not understand. Calling Sheikh Hasina a 'fascist', Rizvi said that although she was compared to rulers like Hitler and Mussolini in world history, the characteristics of Sheikh Hasina's rule were looting state resources, money laundering and attempts to establish relatives abroad. For this reason, Sheikh Hasina will be identified as the worst fascist in history.
