Jahangir Alam, Staff Reporter. Chhagalnaiya, Feni A week-long tree planting campaign and tree fair have officially kicked off in Chhagalnaiya with great enthusiasm under the slogan "Vrikkharopone Sajai Desh, Sobar Age Bangladesh" (Decorate the country with tree plantation, Bangladesh comes first). The event was formally inaugurated by Chhagalnaiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saida Farhana Pritha. Speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony, UNO Saida Farhana Pritha said, "There is no alternative to planting trees to maintain ecological balance and build a green, safe world for future generations. To combat the risks of climate change, I urge everyone to plant at least one fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal tree in their premises." Visits to the fairgrounds revealed stalls decorated with a diverse variety of fruit, forest, and ornamental saplings. Immediately after the inauguration, the venue saw a large gathering of visitors and nature enthusiasts. As part of the program, tree saplings were distributed among local dignitaries and the general public by the upazila administration. Local administration officials, teachers and students from various educational institutions, and representatives of civil society were present at the event.
