Tree Plantation Program-2026 Inaugurated at Mongla Port by The Chairman Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa.

Masum Howlader, Bagerhat Under the theme Let’s Green the Country with Tree Plantation, Bangladesh Comes First the Tree Plantation Program 2026 at Mongla Port was inaugurated by planting a mango sapling at the Headquarters premises by Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa, NUP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Chairman of Mongla Port Authority. On Sunday, (9 August)during the tree plantation program, those present at the inaugural ceremony included, Director (Board), Chief Engineer (C & H), and Member (P & U) (Officer-in-Charge, Alternative Officer), Chief Engineer (M & E), and Director (Administration) (Additional Charge), Harbour Master, Director (Traffic), Chief Security Officer, Chief Engineer (Marine), Chief Audit Officer, Chief Hydrographer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Finance & Accounts Officer, members of the Officers’ Association and CBA / CBA Ad-hoc Committee, along with other officers and employees of the port. The Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa, Chairman of Mongla Port Authority said. Through planting approximately 1,000 fruit-bearing, forest, medicinal and ornamental tree saplings at various points including the Mongla Port Headquarters, on both sides of the main road and railway line, the permanent port residential area, and the Khulna residential area, Mongla Port will play a leading role in building a green Bangladesh and protecting the natural environment. He further said,The responsibility for ensuring proper care of the trees planted in previous years as well as those being planted now lies with all of us, including the concerned officers and employees. He also expressed hope to personally conduct on-site inspections of the saplings every month after the tree plantation activities are completed. The program concluded with a special monajat praying for the overall development of the country, the nation, and the port.
