One in Madukhali child rape attempt case 5 years imprisonment

Biplap Kumar Das, Staff Reporter: A court has sentenced a person named Jamal Molla (65) to five years imprisonment for attempting to rape an eight-year-old child in Faridpur's Madukhali Upazila. At the same time, he was sentenced to another three years in prison without paying a fine of 10,000 taka. On Monday (August 17) afternoon, learned Judge (District and Sessions Judge) Shamima Parveen of Faridpur Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal announced the verdict in the presence of the accused. Later he was sent to the district jail under police guard. Convicted Jamal Molla (65) is the son of deceased Momin Molla of Majhkandi Paschimpara area of ​​Jahapur Union of Madhukhali upazila. According to the report of the case, the child went to the neighboring tailor's house to get new clothes on May 3 this year around 4 pm. As the tailor was not at home, the child was playing with the accused's granddaughter. Jamal Molla skillfully took the child inside the residence and tried to rape her by holding her face. The child tried to run to save herself and fell on the stairs of the accused's house. At that time, the children's screams led the neighbors to come and rescue him. Jamal Mullah ran away from the house. Later a complaint was made to the police station. Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan Ratan, the public counsel of that court said, after the evidence of the case, the court found the accused Jamal Molla guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison and fined 10,000 taka. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to serve another three years in prison. PP of the court also said that justice has been established in this judgment of the court. We are happy.
