Biplap Kumar Das, Staff Reporter: The court has sentenced three youths to life imprisonment for raping a class IX schoolgirl in Faridpur's Bowlmari. At the same time each has been ordered to pay a fine of one lakh taka, in default of which one more year of rigorous imprisonment has been ordered. The tribunal directed the District Collector to pay the recovered fine to the victim's family. On Tuesday afternoon Faridpur women and children torture suppression tribunal judge (district and session judge). Abul Bashar Miya announced the verdict. The accused were present in the court when the verdict was announced. Later they were sent to jail on the orders of the court. The convicts are Nasir Mollah (20), Saikat Chandra Mandal (21) and Nasir Mollah (22). According to the case report, in August 2020, the ninth grade student of a secondary school in Bwalmari was raped. In this incident, when a case was filed on behalf of the victim at Boalmari police station, after the investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court. After reviewing the evidence and documents presented by the state party, the court ruled that the allegations were proven beyond doubt. Prosecution Counsel (PP) Advocate Golam Rabbani Ratan confirmed the verdict and said that the prosecution has successfully proved the crime against the accused and the court has awarded appropriate punishment.
