Jaflong Valley Boarding School, A Promising Beginning, A Silent End, Time to Bring it Back to Life.

Naeem Ahmed, Jaintapur-Gowainghat, Sylhet. Jaflong Valley Boarding School was established amid the breathtaking natural beauty of Jaflong in Jaintapur Upazila of Sylhet. At one time, the institution was surrounded by dreams and promising educational opportunities. Students from Sylhet, Dhaka, and various other districts across the country came here to pursue their studies. However, over time, the institution began facing a shortage of students for various reasons. In particular, the high cost of education made it difficult for many students from the local area and other parts of the country to continue their studies there. Gradually, the number of students declined, and eventually, the institution’s educational activities came to a halt. Today, the institution stands amid the magnificent beauty of nature, seemingly reflecting silence and solitude. Yet, with proper planning and effective initiatives, the existing infrastructure could once again be utilized to establish a vibrant educational institution. In this situation, an appeal is made to the Honorable Minister of Sylhet to hold discussions with the authorities of Jaflong Valley Boarding School and take initiatives to utilize the existing infrastructure and potential. A nursing college, a healthcare-focused educational institution, a technical institute, or another modern and relevant educational institution could be established here. Such an initiative would not only put the long-unused infrastructure to effective use but also create new educational opportunities and employment prospects for students in Greater Jainta and the Sylhet region. Let Jaflong Valley no longer remain lonely. May the institution once again come alive with the footsteps of students. Now is the time to breathe new life into this promising institution.
