Three law students from Feni University have been selected to participate in the prestigious 8th GD Goenka–CIARB International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition 2026 in India, representing both their institution and Bangladesh on the international stage.
Under the overall supervision and training of the Feni University Law Mooting Society (FULMS), the selected team members are Kazi Mohibul Haque and Bibi Zulekha from the 30th batch, and Sanjida Jannat Sayima from the 31st batch of the Department of Law.
The competition will take place from September 25 to 27 at GD Goenka University in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. Teams from universities across the globe, including the United Kingdom, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, will compete in the event. Centered around international commercial arbitration, the competition provides a platform for students to demonstrate their skills in legal research, critical analysis, and advocacy.
Kazi Tasnim Jahan Tanzi, Chairman of the Department of Law at Feni University, is serving as the coach of the team. Under her direct guidance, the students are currently preparing for the main rounds of the contest.
It is worth noting that commercial arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution mechanism designed to settle business disputes—such as breach of contract, supply issues, and contractual liabilities—outside court through an independent tribunal. Participating teams will present their arguments based on this international legal framework.
