Zorarganj Police Drive, Massive Seizure of Drugs, Arms, and Stolen Goods, Over 100 Arrested.

The law and order situation in Zorarganj Police Station area of Mirsarai, Chattogram, has improved significantly following a series of successful operations led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Halim. Implementing a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, robbery, armed criminal networks, and smuggling, the police station has conducted multiple drives between May 1, 2026, and August 21, 2026. ​Major Successes and Seizures ​Narcotics Seizure & Arrests: A total of 53 drug-related cases were filed, leading to the arrest of 71 professional drug traders. Seized items include: ​123,297 Yaba tablets ​211 kg of cannabis ​85 liters of locally produced liquor and 4 bottles of foreign liquor ​One black Noah Square Hybrid microbus used for drug transportation ​Arms & Ammunition: Two notorious armed criminals were arrested. Operations yielded: ​1 semi-automatic 7.62 mm foreign pistol, 1 magazine, and 9 rounds of live ammunition ​1 folding switchblade knife, multiple sharp domestic weapons, and 200 ml of banned Indian Escuf syrup ​Stolen Property Recovery: Six burglary cases were solved, resulting in the recovery of stolen goods, including: ​1 drum truck valued at BDT 3.5 million ​12.1 tons of iron rods (recovered through inter-district drives) ​2 CNG auto-rickshaws, 1 Pulsar motorcycle, 7 kg of copper wire, 1 water pump motor, 3 UPS units, and 3 batteries ​Robbery Cases Solved: Following a robbery on August 9, police identified and arrested 7 robbers shortly after the case was filed, recovering 150 meters of stolen electrical wire. ​Anti-Smuggling Operations: 12 smugglers were arrested across four separate cases for evading customs duties. Seized contraband includes: ​BDT 415,210 worth of Indian cosmetics, chocolates, oil, and a HiAce microbus ​180 Indian sarees valued at BDT 480,000 ​100 Tapentadol tablets and 19 Indian cattle valued at BDT 516,000 ​Homicide Investigations: Three major murder cases were solved, including the quick arrest of a son who killed his father, an arrest following an illegal hill cutting fatality, and three arrests in a murder case where two suspects provided confessionary statements under Section 164. ​Besides law enforcement drives, OC Abdul Halim has been directly leading bit policing and community policing meetings across educational institutions and places of worship to build social awareness against crime and drug abuse. ​"Zorarganj Police remains active 24/7 to maintain law and order, eradicate drugs, and ensure public safety," stated OC Mohammad Abdul Halim.
