Mohinul Islam Sujon, Crime Reporter. Two youths, identified as Siddhartha and Mugdha, have been detained by law enforcement agencies in connection with the killing of four members of a family, including former teacher of Rangpur Zilla School Ganapati Chakraborty, in Machuapara area of Rangpur city. Information available until early Sunday (August 23) indicated that the two youths from the area had been detained. They are reportedly residents of Machuapara. A reliable police source said that law enforcement agencies launched an operation in the area immediately after receiving information about the killings. At one point, Siddhartha and Mugdha were detained. According to the source, one of the detainees fled after noticing the law enforcement operation and hid in the nearby mulberry garden of the Bangladesh Sericulture Development Board. He was later detained from Dakkhinjganj cremation ground adjacent to the garden. The source also said that evidence of yaba consumption was found inside the building after the killings. A group of local youths is suspected of being involved in the incident. Initial suspicion suggests that they may have entered the house with the intention of robbery and subsequently committed the killings. Earlier, on Saturday (August 22) night, police recovered the bodies of four members of the same family from a locked house in Machuapara.
