40 vagabonds and beggars have been arrested by airport police.

Staff Correspondent. Airport police of DMP arrested 40 vagrants and beggars in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area of the capital. Today Monday (August 24) raids were conducted at airport roundabout, BRTA station, airport railway station area, around police box, airport entrance and VIP road and they were arrested. Sources from the airport police station said that the emergence of vagrants and beggars in the airport area has been a long-standing problem. It was creating an uncomfortable situation for domestic and foreign passengers. This operation is conducted as part of regular operation to solve this problem. Among the 40 people arrested in the operation are 15 children, 2 women and 23 adult men. The process of sending the detained children to the Child and Adolescent Shelter in Mirpur and the adults to the Special Court is in process. Airport police also informed that 288 vagrants and beggars have been arrested in the last few days. In all, 328 people have been arrested so far. Detained children were sent to Juvenile Shelter, Mirpur and adults through Special Court. Such operations will continue to ensure smooth movement of passengers and overall safety in the airport area.
