The OC also called upon local residents to work together with law enforcement agencies to prevent drug abuse and other criminal activities.
He assured the gathering that police would stand beside the community whenever they seek assistance in preventing drugs and other unlawful activities.
The speakers at the rally called for an end to the sale, purchase and consumption of yaba, phensedyl and other illegal drugs. They also emphasized the importance of collective efforts involving families, communities and law enforcement agencies to protect young people from drug addiction.
Among others, Manjurul Islam, personal assistant to Aslam Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for Chattogram-4 constituency, Kamal Uddin, Jamal Uddin, journalist leader Robel Khan, Kaisarul Alam, Liaquat Ali, Md. Babul and Khairul Bashar addressed the gathering.
