Mohinul Islam Sujan, Crime Reporter.. Police said that no drugs were found in the dope test of Siddharth Das and Mugdah Das, who were arrested in the murder of four members of a family including retired teacher Ganapati Chakraborty in Machuapara, Rangpur city. Originally, Mugdah and Siddharth's samples were collected for dope test on Sunday, 10 days after the murder and eight days after the arrest. Sanatan Chakraborty, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Police, confirmed this information on Monday (August 31) afternoon. He said that due to security reasons, samples of the two accused were collected from the jail gate last Sunday. Later, the samples were tested and no amphetamine was found. The dope test did not find the presence of drugs in their bodies. Earlier, on Sunday (August 30) afternoon, a team of DB police went to Rangpur Central Jail to collect samples of the two accused. At that time, a technologist and an assistant from the Rangpur Medical College lab were with them. For the safety of the accused, the DB requested the Rangpur Medical College principal to arrange for the collection of samples in the prison. After getting permission, the police team went to the prison with the medical college technologist. Meanwhile, regarding the absence of drug presence in the dope test, Rangpur Medical College Hospital's Biochemistry Department Professor Dr. Rashedul Haque said, amphetamine does not stay in the blood or urine for a long time, it usually stays in the urine for five to seven days, after which it is no longer found. Since they have been in detention for more than seven days, they could not have taken the drug. If it is more than seven days, the presence of amphetamine is naturally not found in the urine. Earlier, on August 22, the police recovered the bodies of Ganapati Chakraborty, a retired teacher of Rangpur Zilla School, his wife and two children from their house in the Machuapara area of Rangpur city. Neighbors Siddharth Das and Mughdah Das were arrested in this incident. Later, they gave confessional statements in court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. In this incident, Ganapati Chakraborty's elder brother Gopinath Chakraborty filed a murder case against unknown accused at the Kotwali Police Station in Rangpur city.
