Massive Rally by Local in Gunara, Sarail Against Drugs.

M Badal Khandaker, Brahmanbaria. An anti-drug rally and gathering was held in Gunara, Sarail, Brahmanbaria, with the pledge to curb the menace of drugs and build a drug-free society. On Friday (September 4), at 3 PM, the anti-drug gathering was organized by the residents of Gunara village in Sarail Sadar Union of Sarail Upazila. The gathering was presided over by the Pir Sahib of Gunara Mannania Darbar Sharif. Sarail Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Jabbar attended as the chief guest and delivered a speech. Special guests who spoke at the event included SI Yunus, Beat Officer of Sarail Sadar Police Station; Parvez Alam, President of Sarail Upazila Press Club; Suruj Member; Jubo Dal leader Mannar Ali; Kamal Pathan; Mon Miya Sardar; Elem Miya Sardar; Sohel Master; Maulana Kaosar; Musa Miya; Motahar Miya; Ali Miya Sardar; and other local dignitaries. The speakers said that drugs are a terrible curse for a family, society, and the state. To prevent the spread of drugs, families, society, public representatives, law enforcement agencies, and the youth must come forward together. They also called for building social resistance against drug dealers and drug users. After the gathering, a colorful anti-drug rally was brought out with banners and festoons carrying various slogans against drugs. The rally marched through different streets of Gunara village. People from various classes and professions in the area participated spontaneously. The organizers said that such awareness programs will continue in the future to build a drug-free and safe society.
