President Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir lays foundation stone of Thakurgaon University.

On Monday (September 7) afternoon, he laid the foundation stone of the proposed university at the designated location of Maheshali (Bhatar Mari Farm) on the Thakurgaon-Pirganj road in Amtoli Rail Ghunti, Jamalpur area of ​​Sadar Upazila. This is Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's first official visit to his own district Thakurgaon after taking office as President. He laid the foundation stone of Thakurgaon University on the second day of his two-day official visit. Expressing his gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the President said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman approved Thakurgaon University in a very short time and started the subsequent activities. In that context, the foundation stone of the university was laid today. I hope that the design and infrastructure of this university will be prepared in a very short time and the construction work will start. He said, 'Today is a happy day for the people of this area. Because, from now on, the people of this area will get the opportunity of higher education and higher education will expand in this region. An opportunity has been created to contribute to the development of Bangladesh by utilizing the youth and future generations. I believe that the people of this area will take that opportunity and will truly develop this university as a center of excellence - this is my expectation. Present at the laying of the foundation stone of Thakurgaon University were State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad, VC of Thakurgaon University Dr. Md. Israfil Shahin, various officials of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission Board, District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, various officials and members of the district and police administration and administration. Earlier, the President arrived in Thakurgaon on a two-day official visit on Sunday afternoon. The helicopter carrying him landed at Thakurgaon Shaheed Mohammad Ali Stadium. Later, he was welcomed as per state protocol. From there, he went to the Circuit House and was given a guard of honour there. After the formalities at the Circuit House, the President visited the graves of his parents. At that time, he prayed for the forgiveness of their souls. Later in the afternoon, he attended the civic reception organized at the big ground of Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School.
