G.M. Adol Pirojpur District Correspondent. Under the theme “Small Contributions Can Change the Story of Fulfilling Dreams,” the “Joy of Giving” programme was held with the support of World Vision Bangladesh’s Pirojpur, Area Development Programme (ADP) and Barishal Area Programme Implementation and Coordination Office (APICO). The programme was organised by members of the Ultra-Poor Graduation Model. The event was held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the field of Hularhat Secondary School in Ward No. 9 of Pirojpur Municipality. At the beginning of the programme, guests were welcomed through a Jari Gaan performance by members of the Child and Youth Forum, focusing on the prevention of child labour and child marriage. In his welcome speech, Stephen Haldar Ruwen, Senior Manager of World Vision Bangladesh’s Barishal APICO, highlighted the objectives of the programme. Mahmudur Rahman Mamun Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pirojpur, attended the event as the chief guest. Jenny Midred DCruz Deputy Director, Field Operations of World Vision Bangladesh, and Dr. Tarun Kumar Sikdar District Livestock Officer of Pirojpur were present as special guests. The programme was presided over by Linda Dafo, Manager of World Vision Pirojpur Area Programme. Following the discussion, the distinguished guests distributed various support items among the beneficiaries. The speakers said that World Vision Pirojpur has been working for a long time to improve the economic conditions of ultra-poor families and promote the well-being of children. With the organisation’s support, many beneficiary families have become self-reliant. They are now taking initiatives themselves by donating cows, goats, ducks, chickens, three-piece clothing sets and other items to ultra-poor relatives and disadvantaged people in their communities. Speaking about the initiative, the donors and recipients present at the event said, “This programme, organised with the support of World Vision is a joyful moment for us. We are very happy today. In the coming days, we will try to help others while maintaining our own well-being, because the joy of being well together with everyone is much greater.”
