BNP Leader Aspiring for Nomination Holds Discussion in Mirsarai.

Mirsarai,Chattogram, Correspondent. To build the drug and terrorism-free union envisioned by Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, former President of Mirsarai Upazila BNP, Advocate Aliul Kabir Iqbal, has expressed his aspiration for the BNP nomination for Chairman from Katashora Union Parishad in the upcoming local government election. He said this on Sunday at 11 AM during a meeting with journalists at his residence in Katashora Union. At the meeting he said, “I joined BNP in 1991, before the general election, through the then MP Obaidul Haque Khandaker. Later, with people’s votes I was elected Chairman of Katashora Union Parishad. With the support of Begum Khaleda Zia, I carried out numerous development works in Katashora Union, including: construction and renovation of 6 roads, construction of 5 cyclone shelters with Saudi and Japanese grants, partial renovation and building construction of 5 government primary schools, earthwork and full construction of 19 roads, construction of 8 culverts, excavation of 5 canals and streams, and construction of 2 madrasa buildings.” He added, “Considering my political experience and the torture and oppression I faced during the past fascist government, I hope the party will nominate me for Chairman from Katashora Union Parishad in the upcoming local government election. If I get the nomination, with the cooperation of Mirsarai MP Nurul Amin, I will build Katashora Union into a model union.”
