Tree Planting Initiative by the Anti-Corruption Committee in Fakirhat.

S A Kalam Fakirhat Bagerhat A tree planting programme has been held in Fakirhat Upazila of Bagerhat with the aim of environmental protection and greening. On Wednesday (16 September), this programme was held at Haji Abdul Hamid Secondary School, organised by the Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee and with the overall cooperation of the Upazila Administration. The chief guest at the tree planting programme was the Upazila Executive Officer, Md. Roknuzzaman. The special guest present was Academic Supervisor Md. Asaduzzaman. The programme was presided over by Sheikh Kamrul Islam Gora, President of the Fakirhat Upazila BNP and Chairman of the Managing Committee of Haji Abdul Hamid Secondary School. At this time, the President of the Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Vice President Sardar Hafizur Rahman, General Secretary Khan Al Mustasim Billah Sojal, members Sheikh Al Imran and M Zakir Hossain, social worker Sheikh Abdul Salam, along with various teachers, media personnel, students, and people from different professions were present. During this time, various types of saplings were planted in the school premises. The tree planting programme aimed to create public awareness about environmental protection, encourage students about the importance of trees, and emphasise the need to create a green environment. The speakers stated that there is no alternative to regular tree planting and care to maintain the balance of the environment and ensure a livable environment for future generations. They emphasised the importance of collective efforts in environmental conservation and called for proper care of the planted trees alongside tree planting.
