SRB Begins Operations Members Directed to Ensure Transparency and Accountability.

Syed Bashir Ahmed, Chief Reporter: The Special Response Battalion (SRB) has officially commenced operations as a specialized unit under the Bangladesh Police. The unit's formal journey began yesterday, Tuesday, following the publication of the gazette for the ‘Special Response Battalion (SRB) Act, 2026’. To mark the occasion, a program involving the unit's members was held at the SRB headquarters on Wednesday (September 16) afternoon. During the event, the Director General of the newly formed force, Additional IGP Md. Ahsan Habib Palash, addressed members present at the headquarters in person and connected with members from various battalions across the country via video conference (VTC). He delivered a directive speech to the SRB members. In his address, the Director General instructed that the highest standards of transparency and accountability be ensured in all operational activities of the SRB, in accordance with the newly enacted law. He also formally announced the commencement of the SRB's operations. He informed that the process of changing the SRB's logo, flag, and uniform in line with the new law is currently underway. These changes will be implemented soon after receiving government approval. The Director General urged every SRB member to discharge their duties with integrity, honesty, and patriotism. He also called upon the members to work towards earning the trust of the general public by ensuring public safety and the rule of law. Later, following the Asr prayers, a special *dua* and *munajat* (supplication) were held, seeking the overall well-being of the SRB and the force's continued success in serving the nation.
