A press conference was held in Sitakunda, Chattogram, on Saturday (September 19, 2026), protesting what the affected parties alleged to be the violation of a court injunction, illegal occupation of property, construction of structures, creation of forged documents, and the dissemination of misleading information on Facebook.
The press conference was held at 12:00 noon at the conference room of the local Press Club. In a written statement, Omar Faruk, representing the affected parties, alleged that Abdul Haque and Nurul Haque had sold the disputed property to them through a registered deed at the Sitakunda Sub-Registry Office on December 30, 2013, thereby relinquishing their ownership rights over the property.
According to the written statement, following the death of Abdul Haque, his heirs allegedly attempted to occupy the property and construct structures there. Subsequently, a case was filed before the Joint District and Sessions Judge’s Court seeking a declaration of title and cancellation of the disputed deed. The case is numbered 120/24.
The affected parties further alleged that the court subsequently issued an injunction against the heirs of Abdul Haque. However, despite the alleged injunction, the heirs allegedly occupied 4.17 decimals of land belonging to Omar Faruk and Abu Taher and 1.51 decimals of land covered by a deed in the name of Masud Parvez Sahed, and constructed structures there.
They also alleged that the heirs of Abdul Haque had been circulating false, fabricated and misleading information against them through Facebook.
The affected parties said they were compelled to hold the press conference to protest the alleged violation of the court order, the disputed documents and the alleged social media campaign. They called for an investigation into the allegations and appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.
Those present at the press conference included affected parties Md. Abu Taher, Naim Uddin, Masud Parvez Sahed, Md. Sohel, Md. Wahid and Md. Toyeb Uddin.
