Operation at Fakirhat Hospital, One Sentenced to Imprisonment .

S A Kalam Fakirhat (Bagerhat) In an operation by a mobile court at the Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex in Bagerhat, a member of a broker gang has been sentenced to 15 days of simple imprisonment on charges of capturing patients. On Thursday (September 24) at around 11:30 AM, he was arrested during the operation conducted in front of the main gate of the hospital. Upon noticing the operation, representatives from various diagnostic centers and private clinics fled the scene. There are allegations that these representatives deceive patients coming to the hospital and take them to private clinics and diagnostic centers in various ways. During the operation, a representative of a diagnostic center, Mohammad Yasin (37), was sentenced to 15 days of simple imprisonment by the mobile court's judge, Executive Magistrate Mohammad Sharif Newaz. At the time, a team from the Fakirhat Model Police Station, including the Residential Medical Officer of the Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Tanvir Mahmud Onik, was present. Fakirhat Executive Magistrate Mohammad Sharif Newaz stated that the arrested individual was sentenced under Section 188 of the Penal Code of 1860. He further stated that this operation was conducted to protect patients from deception and to stop the activities of the hospital-centric broker gang. Such operations will continue to prevent harassment and deceit of patients and their relatives in the hospital.
