Release fish in open and institutional water bodies in Bhanga, Faridpur.

Biplab Kumar Das, Staff Reporter: In Bhanga, Faridpur, fish fry have been released in various water bodies under the revenue budget for the financial year 2026-27. On Thursday (24 September) afternoon, under the arrangement of the upazila administration and the upazila fisheries department, these fish fry were released in 2 institutional water bodies and 3 open water bodies of the upazila. In this, 285 kg of Rui species fish fry were released in the council's pond, the Munsef Court's pond, and 3 open water bodies including Atadi. Under the overall supervision of Upazila Fisheries Officer Israt Jahan, present were Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan, District Fisheries Officer Nasrin Jahan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Molla Al-Mamun, Social Services Officer Mominur Rahman, along with relevant officials and staff. Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan said, keeping in mind the proverb "Fish and rice are the staple of Bengalis," fish farming needs to be increased to meet the demand for protein.
