Md. Sohel Rana, Rajshahi Correspondent. As per the instructions of the Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh, to prevent illegal smuggling of goods, narcotics or illegal trespass through the border, the BGB members in the border area of Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) are performing their duties with professionalism by increasing strict intelligence surveillance and patrol activities. In continuation of this, today on 25 September 2026 at approximately 03:30 AM, the operational team of Mirganj BOP under Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) learned through its own intelligence source that some narcotics were hidden in Mahadipur mango orchard under Bagha police station for the purpose of selling. Based on the information, the BGB operational team quickly reached the spot and, seeing no one, conducted a search operation inside the mango orchard. At one stage of the search, the operational team saw a small bag hidden in the grass at the base of a mango tree. Later, when the bag was opened by the operational team, they were able to seize 500 pieces of Indian Tapentadol tablets (ownerless) from inside it. The process of depositing the seized narcotics at Bagha Police Station is underway. BGB intelligence operations are continuing to identify the smuggler involved in this matter and to take appropriate legal action against him.
