International Day of Older Persons Observed in Zianagar.

G.M. Adol Pirojpur District Correspondent. International Day of Older Persons 2026 was observed in Zianagar of Pirojpur with a discussion meeting highlighting the theme Thinking Anew for a Long Life. The discussion meeting was held on Thursday morning(October 1) at the Upazila Parishad conference room. The event was jointly organized by the Upazila Administration, Upazila Social Services Office, and Ruposhi Bangla Development Organization with the participation of local older persons. The meeting was chaired by Professor Md. Zakaria Hossain of Zianagar Government Degree College. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Waliur Rahman Rubel attended the event as the chief guest. Among others Upazila Health Officer Dr. Nani Gopal Roy, Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Riazul Islam, Executive Director of Ruposhi Bangla Development Organization Md. Azad Hossain, General Secretary of Zianagar Press Club Md. Moniruzzaman, former Upazila Education Officer A. Mannan, veteran teacher Harun-or-Rashid, Enamul Kabir, and Hamed Jomaddar attended the meeting and delivered speeches.The meeting was moderated by Programme Coordinator Md. Altaf Hossain.At the end of the meeting, the organizing organizations distributed gift items among all the participants.
