Allegation of Attempted Land Grabbing in Mirsarai, Remedy Sought at Press Conference Mirsarai (Chattogram) Correspondent. A family has held a press conference seeking remedy, alleging an attempt to grab their long-occupied land in Mirsarai, Chattogram. The press conference was held at Mirsarai Upazila Press Club on Saturday morning. In a written statement, Jahangir Alam said that there is a hundred-year-old property left by his foster father in Ward No. 5 of Madhyam Mayani area of the upazila. He has filed two civil cases in court regarding that land. The cases are under trial. Jahangir Alam alleged that although the court has issued an injunction against trespassing and construction of illegal structures on the disputed land, an influential quarter is trying to occupy the land. He also alleged that his three expatriate sons are being threatened with being implicated in false cases if they return to the country. However, regarding the allegation, Mohammad Hasan said that to determine the actual ownership and possession of the land, it is necessary to verify the deeds, court documents, registry records, mutation and khatian including relevant documents. Only after verifying these will the real facts be known. Sub-Inspector (SI) Safin of Mirsarai Police Station said that after receiving the court's order, a notice was issued accordingly and the matter was informed to the court. As the case regarding ownership and possession of the land is ongoing, the resolution of the dispute depends on the decision of the court.
