Kaukhali, Pirojpur Correspondent. Police have recovered the body of a housewife named Jasmine Begum (50) from her home in Kaukhali, Pirojpur. The body was recovered on Sunday morning (October 4) from the Bandakanda area of Shialkathi Union. The deceased, Jasmine Begum, was the wife of the late Keramat Ali and the daughter of Afzal Hossain. According to local sources, Jasmine Begum was alone in the house on Saturday night. Miscreants attacked the isolated house, which had no immediate neighbors, during the night. The next morning, a local teenager arrived to harvest betel nuts and called out to Jasmine Begum. Receiving no response, he went to the back of the house and saw the housewife's nude body lying on the bed inside. The household belongings were found scattered and in disarray. Locals suspect that the miscreants broke in through the back door sometime during the night. They likely killed Jasmine Begum—either because she resisted the looting or because she recognized them—and left her body in a nude state. Upon receiving news of the incident, the Pirojpur District Superintendent of Police, a CID investigation team, and senior police officials promptly visited the scene. A CID technical team has collected evidence to help identify the perpetrators. Regarding the incident, Md. Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaukhali Police Station, stated: "We arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the news and recovered the housewife's body. The body is being sent to the Pirojpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Legal proceedings and the process of filing a case are underway. Efforts are being made to quickly identify and arrest those involved."
