Syed Bashir Ahmed, Chief Reporter. The three-day 'Josephite Tech Carnival 2026' was held with great fanfare at St. Joseph International School (SJIS), aiming to foster students' technical knowledge, creativity, and innovative capabilities. Students from various renowned educational institutions across the country participated in this inter-school technology festival, which took place from October 1 to October 3. The carnival kicked off with an inaugural ceremony on Thursday (October 1) and continued through Saturday (October 3), drawing participants from prestigious schools nationwide. Distinguished guests from various fields, educationists, tech enthusiasts, teachers, and students were present at the event. The three-day program featured several engaging technology-based competitions. Notable events included AI Prompting, Line Drone, Swift Type Blitz, Drone Competition, and a Tech Memes contest. By participating in these competitions, students demonstrated their technical knowledge, quick thinking, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Brother Chandan Gomes, CSC, Principal of St. Joseph International School, said, "In today's technology-driven world, there is no substitute for digital skills. However, it is unfortunate that many schools still do not organize such tech carnivals. These events are essential to prepare students for the future world." He added, "SJIS students are already showcasing their skills on the international stage. The school authorities will continue to undertake such initiatives in the future to ensure our students can advance even further on the global platform." Expressing satisfaction with the event's success, Snigdha Kona Pal, the carnival's Chief Moderator, said, "We were impressed by the students' spontaneous participation and enthusiasm. Such platforms create a wonderful opportunity not only for competition but also for the exchange of knowledge and experience." Distinguished corporate trainer and HR headhunter Don Samdani, along with Sayef Tanjim Kaiyum, Operations Officer (Asia Pacific, Infrastructure Division) at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), attended the carnival as special guests. Dr. Sadia Sharmin, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Information and Communication Technology Division, attended the event as the chief guest.
