M Badal Khandakar (Special Correspondent) Why are we so humiliated today? Why does persecution, threats and harassment come down upon us whenever we hold the pen for truth? This question is in the mind of every conscientious journalist today. So should we bow down to brokers, usurers, and bribe-takers? No, never. A true journalist never bows down to injustice, and never will. Journalism is the conscience of the nation. If that conscience is sold, society will sink into darkness. But it is a matter of great sorrow that today some individuals are practicing yellow journalism using the identity of journalists. They are collecting just a card by paying a thousand taka to the editor and doing all kinds of fraudulent activities. They are not journalists, they are a disgrace in the name of journalists. It is because of these yellow journalists that genuine journalists are being humiliated today, and the respect of journalists in society is being undermined. So the time has come to boycott these fake and yellow journalists. Those who truly risk their lives in the field to spread the truth should stay away from these fraudsters and identify and boycott them. Remember, the pen will never stop. No matter how much persecution comes, the pen will continue for the sake of truth. Because the victory of truth is inevitable.
