Tree Plantation Drive by Ansar and Village Defence Force in Atrai.

With the motto "Let us adorn the country by planting trees; Bangladesh comes first," the Ansar and Village Defence Force organized a tree plantation drive in Atrai, Naogaon, featuring fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal tree species. On Tuesday (October 6) at 10:30 AM, a tree plantation program was held on the premises of Sudrana High School. Organized under the initiative of the Director General of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force as part of the "Tree Plantation Drive-2026," the event saw the participation of Ansar and VDP members. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Moniruzzaman attended the program as the chief guest. Also present were Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Mst. Khushi Khatun, Sudrana High School Headmaster Sri Amendra Debnath, along with other Ansar and VDP officials and members. A total of 475 saplings were planted, comprising various fruit, timber, and medicinal species: 200 Mahogany, 50 Guava, 50 Arjun, 50 Olive (Jalpai), 50 Betel Nut, 20 Neem, 20 Amla (Indian Gooseberry), 5 Tamarind, 5 Elephant Apple (Chalta), 5 Krishnachura, 5 Bakul, 5 Jarul, 5 Shimul, and 5 Shishu (Sissoo).
