Elderly Man Killed in Attack by Opponent Over Trivial Matter in Atrai.

Nazmul Haque Nahid, Atrai (Naogaon) Correspondent. An elderly man has died after being repeatedly punched and struck by an opponent following a dispute over a trivial matter in Atrai, Naogaon. The incident occurred around 10:00 AM , Monday (October 5), in Madhugurnai village of the upazila. According to locals and eyewitnesses, an altercation arose after a goat belonging to Mim Mondal (20) ate leaves from a bean plant owned by his neighbor, Yasin Mondal (75). At one point, Mim Mondal began repeatedly punching and striking Yasin. Samapthi Begum, Yasin's daughter-in-law, said, "Hearing my father-in-law's screams, I rushed out of the house and saw Mim punching and striking him. Eventually, my father-in-law lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground. Others and I then rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared him dead." Mahbub Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atrai Police Station, stated, "Upon receiving the news, I visited the scene. Procedures regarding the autopsy and the filing of a case are currently underway."
