BGB Seizes Large Quantity of Indian Syrup in Rajshahi Border.

Md. Sohel Rana, Rajshahi Correspondent. In line with the directions of the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and following a "Zero Tolerance" policy against drugs, a sharp team from Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) is conducting special anti-narcotics drives in the border areas. As part of these ongoing efforts, an operational team from Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) received secret information that drug smugglers were attempting to illegally transport a consignment of narcotics. Based on this intelligence, a team from the Yusufpur BOP set an ambush in a mango orchard near a madrasa in the Tangon area under Charghat Police Station. After waiting for a long time, at around 00:30 hours today, October 7, 2026, the BGB team spotted a drug smuggler heading towards the mango orchard carrying a sack on his head. When the BGB personnel chased him, the smuggler dropped the sack and fled the scene. Upon searching the abandoned sack, the BGB operational team successfully seized 100 bottles of Indian "Eskuf" syrup (unclaimed). The process of handing over the seized syrup to Charghat Police Station is currently underway. BGB intelligence activities are ongoing to identify the smuggler involved in this incident and to take appropriate legal action against them.
