Preparation Meeting and Welcome Ceremony Held in Mohanpur for Sharadiya Durga Puja

Sohel Rana, Rajshahi Correspondent. ​A preparation meeting was held in Rajshahi's Mohanpur upazila to welcome Goddess Durga and to ensure that the Hindu community's largest religious festival, Sharadiya Durga Puja, is celebrated in a peaceful, smooth, and festive atmosphere. ​Organized by the Mohanpur Upazila Administration, the exchange and preparation meeting took place on Wednesday morning (October 7) at the Upazila Parishad conference room. Mohanpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Fahima Binte Akhtar presided over the meeting. ​The meeting featured detailed discussions on maintaining overall law and order during the upcoming Durga Puja, strengthening security at puja mandaps, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply, managing traffic, and forming volunteer teams to prevent any untoward incidents. Additionally, the upazila administration assured full support to ensure everyone can celebrate the festival in a joyful environment while maintaining communal harmony. ​Among others present and delivering speeches were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zobaida Sultana, Upazila Youth Development Officer Sayeed Reza, and former Chairman of Dhuroil Union Kazim Uddin. Officials from various upazila administration departments, local representatives, law enforcement representatives, leaders of various puja celebration committees, and local dignitaries also attended the meeting. ​Speakers at the meeting highlighted that Bangladesh has traditionally been a country of communal harmony. Expressing optimism, they stated that under the principle "Religion belongs to the individual, but festivals belong to all," Sharadiya Durgotsav in Mohanpur upazila will be completed beautifully, joyfully, and with airtight security through collective effort and cooperation.
