The upazila administration and the upazila fisheries officer's office have seized about 840 meters of illegal Chinese duari nets in a raid at Barobigha chawk of Manikdah union of Bhanga upazila of Faridpur. The seized nets were later burnt and destroyed in public. The raid was conducted at Barobigha Chowk on Thursday (October 8). At this time, it was informed to continue the operation against the use of illegal nets in order to preserve and protect the fish resources. According to upazila administration and upazila fisheries officer's office, regular operations are being conducted to stop the use of prohibited and harmful nets to protect fishery resources and conserve aquatic biodiversity. In continuation of this, a large amount of China duari net was seized in a raid at Barobigha Chowk. Later, the seized nets were burnt and destroyed in public. Upazila Fisheries Officer Israt Jahan was present at this time. According to the authorities, such operations will continue in the future to conserve and protect fish resources.
