World Sight Day Observed in Pirojpur

G.M. Adol Pirojpur District Correspondent. A rally and discussion meeting were held at the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Pirojpur on Thursday, October 8 marking World Sight Day 2026.The programme was organized to raise awareness about eye health, preventable blindness, and the importance of regular eye care among people.Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Civil Surgeon of Pirojpur, presided over the programme. Dr. Shishir Ranjan Adhikari, Assistant Director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Dhaka, currently attached to Pirojpur District Hospital was present at the event.Nursing officials, the Manager of BRAC Pirojpur, the Inspector-in-Charge of Pirojpur Nursing Institute, teachers and students of Pirojpur Nursing Institute, and other concerned individuals also attended the programme.The participants emphasized the importance of creating greater public awareness about eye diseases, timely treatment, and ensuring access to eye-care services for all.
