BGB Seizes Large Quantity of Indian Drugs and Smuggled Goods in Raids Across Rajshahi Border.

Sohel Rana, Rajshahi Correspondent. ​In accordance with the directives of the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), BGB personnel under the Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) are performing their duties with professional excellence by intensifying intelligence surveillance and patrol activities along the border to prevent illegal smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and unlawful entry. ​As part of these ongoing efforts, operational teams from the Charghat, Yousufpur, and Alaipur Border Outposts (BOPs) under the Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB) conducted raids based on secret information today, October 9, 2026, between approximately 12:00 AM and 06:00 AM. During the operations, BGB seized 10,000 pieces of Indian electrical resistors, 105 bottles of Indian Captain liquor, and 52 bottles of Indian JD liquor (unclaimed). Process is currently underway to deposit the seized narcotics with the local police stations and the smuggled goods with the Rajshahi Customs Warehouse. ​BGB intelligence operations are continuing to identify those involved in these illicit activities and take appropriate legal action against them. ​The total estimated value of the seized goods stands at BDT 3,85,500.
