Protest Against Conspiracy and Defamatory Remarks Against Headmaster.

Md. Ohid Saiful,Rajapur, Jhalakathi. Students have held a demonstration and formed a human chain in protest against conspiracy and defamatory remarks against Md. Shahidullah Khan, Headmaster of Rajapur Government Pilot Girls High School in Jhalakathi. They held the programme in front of the school at 10 am on Thursday (October 15). At that time, the students demanded to stop propaganda against the headmaster, withdraw the complaints filed against him in various offices, and identify and bring those involved in the conspiracy to justice. Senior teacher of the school Md. Shahjahan, 9th class student Meherun Nesa and 10th class students Maria and Tithi spoke at the programme. The speakers alleged that Headmaster Md. Shahidullah Khan took initiatives to remove various irregularities after joining the school about a month ago. Angered by this, some teachers have engaged in conspiracy with the aim of removing him from the school. They also claimed that false complaints have been filed anonymously against him in various departments. The speakers said, obstructing the initiative to remove irregularities in the educational institution and improve the educational environment is in no way desirable. If conspiracy and defamatory remarks have been made to humiliate the headmaster, the concerned persons must be identified and brought to justice. At the same time, they demanded a public apology and withdrawal of complaints filed in various departments. The students also warned of tougher movement if their demands are not met. Headmaster Md. Shahidullah Khan said, since joining, he has been taking regular classes of class IX and X. Earlier question papers were prepared following guide books, but now question papers are being prepared in-house inside the school. Earlier, regular classes were not held, now regular classes are being held and attendance of girl students has also increased. He further said, before joining, there were various problems including nepotism in the school. He has taken initiative to solve those problems with the teachers. He thinks some teachers have become dissatisfied because of these changes. Informing that he will inform the higher authorities about the complaints filed against him, he said, "I want those who have done this to admit their responsibility. I want to identify who is involved in this conspiracy. I want to leave the school as a beautiful and ideal educational institution like a flower garden." Md. Zahidul Islam, President of Upazila Secondary Teachers Association, said, they do not want grouping among teachers to harm students' studies. Measures will be taken to ensure that there is no grouping in the school. He expressed hope that the situation will end from tomorrow. Regarding this, Rajapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rifat Ara Moury said, the matter will be looked into. If the allegation of conspiracy is found to be true, those concerned will be identified and action will be taken against them. Incidentally, on October 13, an anonymous written complaint was filed with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and higher authorities alleging misbehavior and indecent remarks with girl students in the classroom against the newly joined headmaster of Rajapur Government Pilot Girls High School, Md. Shahidullah Khan. In protest against that complaint and alleging conspiracy and defamatory remarks against the headmaster, the students of the school held a demonstration and human chain on Thursday. At that time, they demanded withdrawal of the complaint, stopping of propaganda and identifying the persons involved in the incident and taking necessary action.
