Human Chain Demanding Nationalization of Khan Jahan Ali Degree College in Bagerhat.

Teachers, students, officials, employees and conscious citizens have formed a human chain demanding nationalization of the traditional Khan Jahan Ali Degree College in Bagerhat. The human chain was held in front of the main gate of the college at 9:30 am on Thursday (October 15). In the human chain organized with the slogan 'Build the country with education', the speakers said, Khan Jahan Ali Degree College is a traditional educational institution of Bagerhat. For a long time, the institution has been playing an important role in spreading education in this region. Many students have established themselves in various fields after receiving education from here. However, nationalization of the college is necessary to improve the quality of education, develop infrastructure and increase facilities for students according to the needs of time. The speakers further said, if an educational institution is nationalized, students from general and underprivileged families can get relatively more facilities. Besides, it paves the way for increasing facilities for teachers and employees, improving the educational environment and expanding modern educational activities. For this reason, considering the long tradition of Khan Jahan Ali Degree College and its contribution in the field of education, they demanded to consider the issue of nationalization with importance. Speaking at the human chain, the speakers said, Khan Jahan Ali Degree College is not just an educational institution, it is associated with the long-standing education and tradition of the people of this region. If the college is nationalized, there will be a positive change in the education system of the area. Students will get the opportunity to study in a more improved environment. Therefore, for the sake of the future of the students and the development of education in the area, it is necessary to take effective initiatives by the concerned authorities for nationalization of the college. The speakers also said, the government is taking various initiatives to ensure expansion of education and quality education. In continuation of that, the issue of bringing traditional educational institutions like Khan Jahan Ali Degree College under nationalization should be considered. They drew the attention of the concerned ministry and authorities for this. At the same time, they called for taking necessary steps to implement the demand for nationalization of the college. Present at the human chain were former secretary of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and President of the Officers' Forum Dr. Faridul Islam Bablu, Principal of the college Khondkar Asif Uddin Rakhi, Assistant Professor Abul Hasan Md. Oliur Rahman, Assistant Professor Sheikh Sain Hossain and other teachers, students, officials-employees and local dignitaries of the college. It is to be noted that the founder of Khan Jahan Ali Degree College is former Secretary General of the nationalist party BNP and former Home Minister, Commerce Minister and Foreign Minister Lieutenant Colonel A.S.M. Mostafizur Rahman. The participants in the human chain demanded to take initiative for rapid nationalization considering the long tradition of the college, its contribution in the field of education and future development.
