Joint Initiative by District Administration and Pirojpur Municipality, Canal Cleaning Drive Across Municipal Wards.

Pirojpur Correspondent. A canal cleaning drive has been conducted across various wards of Pirojpur Municipality as a joint initiative by the District Administration and the Pirojpur Municipality, aimed at preventing dengue. Starting Friday afternoon, the mosquito-control operation focused on clearing stagnant water from ditches, canals, and drains, removing weeds, and applying larvicides and adulticides to curb the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes. Present at the event were Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Golam Rabbani, and the Administrator of Pirojpur Municipality, Mahmudur Rahman Mamun. Also in attendance was Touhidul Islam, Organizing Secretary of the municipal unit of the BNP. Officials from the Pirojpur Municipality and the District Administration, municipal staff, representatives of civil society, and members of the media were also present. Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Golam Rabbani stated that mosquito-control and cleaning drives are currently underway across various upazilas and municipalities in Pirojpur district to prevent dengue. Such public-welfare initiatives will continue in Pirojpur to combat the threat of dengue.
